Episode 7:
The Viridian Forest

Last time, Icy finally made it to Pallet Town. After stopping at Prof. Oak’s, he met 3 new friends. And now…

They woke up early that morning. “All right, he’s still sleeping, now’s our chance,” Icy said. Insanellama nodded.

“Yeah, let’s get out of here before he wakes up!” Random and Lonewolf were already at the door. “Let’s go!” they whisper. Without another sound, they leave Oak’s house for Route 1.

A few hours later, Oak wakes up to an empty house. “Good morning! Rise and shine! The early Pidgey catches the Caterpie! Hmm?!?” Oak looks around but sees no one. “I guess they were the early ones, oh well, looks like I get all the anchovy on rye for myself. Mmm, ymmm, mmmm….”

The group stops at a local restaurant in town for a real breakfast. “We should head to Route 22 to hunt for Nidorans. They can be quite strong when well trained,” Insanellama says. The others agree and finish their breakfast. They pay and leave to hunt Nidorans.

“Where are you Nidorans…,” Lonewolf called out. Suddenly, from behind her, 2 male Nidorans jumped out, catching her off guard.

“Let’s double team them Lonewolf” “Ponyta, fire spin attack, now!” Insanellama shouted.

“Vulpix fire spin attack NOW!” The flames wrapped both the Nidorans, seriously burning them. “Your mine!” they said, throwing their pokéballs. The two nidorans were easily captured.

Just then, two more Nidorans popped up, but these were different from each other. They were a male and female. “Let’s double team these Random. Double Bulbasaur!” Icy and Random both release their Bulbasaurs. “Bulbasaur/Bubba, vine whip!” they both yell at the same time. “Bulbasaur!!” the Bulbasaurs cry as they restrain the Nidorans. “Let’s catch them now, go pokéball!” Icy and Random throw their pokéballs. Icy catches the female Nidoran, Random catches the male. “Nice work. Bulbasaurs return! Let’s get these pokémon healed before we continue.”

“OK,” the others say.

They head back to the Viridian Pokécenter and have their pokémon healed. “Here are your pokemon, take good care of them.” It’s now noon and they decide to grab some food and supplies before going any further. The Viridian Forest is their next challenge, or is it?

Meanwhile, two shadows linger in a corner of the pokécenter. “Hmmm… Isn’t that Insanellama, that kid who double-crossed us?”

“Yes. And that other kid with him, the one with the blue ring, he’s Icy. They’re high on the list.”

“Then we should follow them. Huh…” Another shadowy figure approaches them, crosses his arms to reveal a red ring with an R on it.

“Just leave everything to me…”

The group goes in to the pokémart and buy pokéballs, potions, antidotes, food, and a new rope for Insanellama. “Well I guess we’d better hit the road” said Insanellama.

“Yea it’s almost 2 o’clock” said Icy. They walk into the forest.

“Ok guys, keep you eyes open” said Insanellama “Will a few of you guys go see if you can rustle some Caterpie up?^PI^”

“Sure ^PI^” The pikascouts run off into the distance.

The group keeps walking on. About 10 minutes later the pikascouts return telling them that they found 14 Caterpie in a group and will lead them to the Caterpie. “Yay, finally I’m gonna get some Caterpie” Icy said. His eyes lit up with the thought.

“Well there they are, ok Icy, you take 10, and the rest of us will get one each, we’ll let one go free” said Insanellama. Icy uses his Abra to weaken 10 of the Caterpie one by one and catching them.

“Pikachu THUNDERSHOCK NOW, POKEBALL GO!” and Insanellama had a Caterpie. Random’s Bulbasaur did a vine whip, and he now had one. Lonewolf’s Vulpix did a fire spin, and she now had a slightly singed Caterpie. “Well, let’s move on out guys” said Insanellama “My scouts tell me the pikaherd’s just a little bit up the road from here.”

5 minutes later they begin to hear muddled pikaspeak, which soon grew to an almost deafening volume. “Hey pal’s can one of my friends each take one of ya with 'em in their journey?”^PI^

“Sure” ^PI^ one Pikachu jumps on each trainer’s shoulder.

“Well, I guess I’ll leave these guys with you” ^PI^ “Well, we got a lot of ground to cover.” The group walked off into the distance.

Meanwhile 3 figures walked along following our heroes’ trail. “What’s that?” the man with the Red ring said. They found out that it was the pikaherd.

“Holy crap!” said the one of the others.

PIIIIIIIIIIIIIII KKKKKKKKKKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA CCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHUUUUUU. Electricity begins coming from every pikachu’s body and frying the Team Rocket members. They stumble away from and around the herd and pick up the trail on the other side.

“Good thing we brought a lot of potions” said the man with the Red ring. They continued following our heroes trail.

Meanwhile they continued walking and heard a SNOR SNOR LAX LAX coming from the east. “That’s my favorite kind of pokémon SNORLAX!!!” Said Random.

“Ok then, you can be the one to catch it” Insanellama said. They walk towards the Snorlax.

“BULBASAUR GO! BULBASAUR VINEWHIP NOW!!” The Snorlax is encircled by the vines. He eventually breaks free and tries to do a SIT attack. Bulbasaur narrowly evades this. Snorlax busts its rump. “POKEBALL GO!” Snorlax is caught. Random picks up the pokéball and puts it in his back, he then falls over from the weight of the bag. The others begin laughing hysterically.

“Hahahha, don’t worry it’ll get lighter in a few seconds hehehe, you gotta be careful with heavy pokémon” Insanellama said. Insanellama stops laughing all of a sudden “Hey that looks like a pokécenter over there.” said Insanellama. They go inside and get their pokémon to be healed by the nurse inside.

Meanwhile…

“You sure that’s enough C-4 to do the job,” Said Red Ringed Man.

“Yea,” said one of the others.

*Back to our heroes*

“AB RA ABRA AB AB AB!”

“He’s pointing at that wall” said Icy. Insanellama puts his ear to the wall. “Uh. guys, it’s uh ticking, we’d better get out of here. You too Nurse” he said. They run out the door and are knocked over by the force of the explosion.

“We got 'em, let’s go on to Pewter.”

“Oh man, we’d better go to Pewter and rest,” said Random. They all agreed. They walk for a few hours of un-eventful travel. Just when they are at the edge of Viridian Forest.

“TEAM ROCKET BLAST OFF AT THE SPEED OF LITE, SURRENDER NOW OR PREPARE TO FIGHT!”

“I’m Shadow, the man with the red ring said”

“And we’re Freaka and Reaka” The other two said.

“You guys stay back I can take 2 of you at once” Giovanni said.

“I’ll go first said Insanellama Pikachu GO, Ponyta GO, Pidgey go, Rattata go, Caterpie go!”

“GENGAR GO GENGAR 2 GO GENGAR 3 GO! HAUNTER GO! HAUNTER2 GO! HAUNTER3 GO!”

“PIKACHU THUNDERBOLT NOW” Shadow withdraws Gengar one

“PONYTA FIRE SPIN NOW!” This attack causes him withdraw Haunter 1.

“HAUNTER PSYCHIC NOW!” This attack hits all of Insanellama’s pokémon. Ponyta is the only one left standing.

“PONYTA FIRESPIN NOW!” This faints one of the Haunters.

Shadow finishes off Ponyta and Icy sends out his pokémon. “ABRA PSYCHIC NOW!” This knocks the rest of Shadow’s pokémon down to a few hit points.

“GENGAR HYPNOSIS NOW! GENGAR DREAM EATER!” Only Dugtrio and 2 Gengar are left standing.

“DUGTRIO EXPLOSION NOW!” This finishes the remaining Gengars, but also Icy’s last pokémon. After seeing Shadow defeated the other two rockets run off.

Ponyta’s pokéball start’s to shake. Ponyta pops out and then turns into a ball of red energy. “WHAT IN THA… PONYTA’S EVOLVING! HE’S A RAPIDASH NOW!, CONGRATULATIONS RAPIDASH!!” Insanellama begins hugging Rapidash, about 5 minutes later they walk into the pokécenter…
