Episode 15:
Package for Icy

“Special Delivery!”. The man dropped a small box at the lighthouse, then drove off.

“I got it!” Insane said. He picked up the package. “Hey Icy, it’s for you. It’s from Quethril.”

“Chu..” (So, open it already.)

Insane opens the box. The others gather around to see what’s inside. Insane found a small black box with a rope strung through it like a necklace. A letter was also enclosed. It read…

Dear Icy,

Heard about the incident at Bill’s. Maybe this will cheer you up. It’s a PikaTranslator I’ve been working on for the past few months. I want you to have it. Consider it a gift. Gotta go. Hope it makes you feel better.

Quethril

Icy was overjoyed. He cried not out of sadness, but out of happiness. He could finally be able to communicate with people again. Insane put the device around Icy’s neck.

“Try it out.”

The translator clicked, some static, but then they could hear Icy’s voice.

“Testing 1,2,… It WORKS!!!!” Icy was jumping for joy, his Pikachu body glowing with electricity around him.

“Thank you Insane for helping me. But I’m going to need someone to take care of me for a while. After battling that trainer out there, I could get in a lot of danger. I feel much safer with you guys.”

Insane nodded. “No prob, Icy. I’ll look after you and your pokémon.”

“Thanks, Insane! Wow, the whole group’s here. Where to next guys?”

Black Hole spoke up first, “What is the next town?”

X, still deep in thought regarding his dropping-out of Team Rocket mumbled, “Saffron City.”

Llama, ever-knowing Pokémon trainer he was, said, “or Lavender Town, and the Rock Tunnel is nearby also.

Icy responded, “BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH…”

“Darnit Icy, the translator works…” Random said annoyed, ”STFU!!!”

“Kachu.” Icy said, in his normal voice. A bolt smacked Random to the floor.

Random apologized. Just then, Bill walked in.

“Why are so many trainers showing up here? Oh well…. C’mere Flareon..” The flaming Pokémon strutted in behind Bill… Random’s eyes lit up!!! A Pokébattle!!!

“Wanna go at it Bill?”

“Sure… Random is it? One each?”

“Yes. Why not? GO BUBBA…”

“Go Flareon.”

And with that the match began….

“Flareon: Ember attack!” The Pokémon spit fire on Bubba, damaging his bulb.

“Yer Okay Bubba, use your razor leaf!!!!” Bubba fired a pattern of leaves at Flareon, each burned up before hitting Flareon.. “This is a mis-match..” Random mumbled to himself… Random was becoming a smarter trainer. “Alright Bubba, try a normal tackle!” Bubba dove onto Flareon before the flame-poké could evade the attack. It was a hard hit, and Flareon hit the wall. “GOOD HIT!!! NOW STUN SPORE HIM!!!” Flareon fell asleep, and Bubba tackled once again… Flareon was defeated.

“Great job Bubba!!! I am so proud.” Bubba fell down from Random’s arms… he was weak… he began flashing bright colors… and his bulb was shaking… he was becoming… Ivysaur!!!! “YOU EVOLVED!!!! SWEET!!!” Random exclaimed. The rest of the Clan applauded. “But now Bubba isn’t a good name; you aren’t a Bulbasaur, I hereby re-name you, Ivan, the IVYSAUR!!!!” Random tossed Ivysaur into the air!!!!

“Well, I think we’d better leave, and let Bill finish straightening up the place,” said Insanellama. With that, he loaded up his gear into his pack.

“Hey, will you keep all of my pokéballs except these two?” asked Icy. He had a Caterpie, and an Abra pokéball tied to his tail.

“Sure thing pal,” Insanellama grabbed the remainder of Icy’s pokéballs and tucked them safely into his backpack. He decided only to carry four in his belt today, a Rapidash outside with him. He put Nidoking, Pikachu, Nidoran male, and Rapidash’s Pokéball on his belt. “Hope I can find someone with a Nidoran female to trade with…” he said to himself.

Random got his gear together, muttering about the broken string on his guitar. Bill walked in and heard him muttering. “Hey, I play guitar, let me get ya a new string” A few seconds later he returned with a new guitar string for Random.

“Thanx Bill.” He put the string in and happily played a few notes. Black hole got up, and said goodbye to Bill. They all walked out the door together, with Icy right next to Insanellama.

“Ok, I guess Vermilion is the next stop, right guys?” They all agreed. After a couple of hours, they stopped for lunch. Icy went off to get an apple. “Don’t go off too far Icy” said Insanellama.

Icy had just climbed back down from the tree with an apple when a trainer came out of the bushes. “Not again,” though Icy. The trainer through out a Geodude. “ABRA GO!” came from the translator as the pokéball was slung toward the Geodude.

“What the…..????” said the trainer. “Oh well, GEODUDE TACKLE THE PIKACHU NOW!” Geodude went into a diving tackle. Abra faded out, and faded back in, in front of Icy. He started glowing and white beam erupted from his skull and Geodude reeled back in pain, hitting a tree. Icy let out a thunderbolt that sent the trainer running.

Abra and Icy were rolling with laughter when Insanellama walked up. “Let me guess, some trainer tried to mess with you two?”

“AB AB ABRA!” (yep)

“Yea, good job Abra” said Icy.

“Well, we’d better get movin again, I’d like to make the tunnel by dark” said Insanellama. BlackHole and Random took the lead, Icy, X, and Insanellama had rearguard.

“There it is up ahead,” said Black hole. They continued walking. BlackHole sent out his Charmander to help Rapidash with the lighting situation. They went down into the tunnel, and but for the light from Charmander and Rapidash, it would have been pitch dark. When they were walking, they saw another light up ahead. As they gained on the light, they saw it was another trainer.

“Howdy there,” said Insanellama.

“Hi, you wouldn’t happen to have a Nidoran male to trade for a Nidoran female would you?” asked the trainer.

“As a matter of fact, I do. Wanna trade?” said Insanellama.

“Sure,” said the trainer. They saw a trading station embedded in the wall, so they walked over and made the trade. “Bye,” they said in unison, and continued walking.

They got out of the tunnel, and walked towards the pokécenter to sleep for the night. They all said their goodnights, and went to sleep.
