Last time, Icy was ambushed once again by Team Rocket. After a group of Clefairies saved him, he continued his journey through Mt. Moon. And now…
Icy looked down at the beautiful city below him. Cerulean City was well known for its beauty and water gardens. Icy decided it would be best to heal his pokémon at the pokécenter before competing for a Cascade Badge. Another one of Joy’s cousins, sisters, whichever, took Icy’s pokéballs and revitalized them. Icy had a quick snack while he waited. Soon after, a Chansey brought him his pokéballs. “Chan, Chansey!” “Thanks,” Icy said as he took his pokéballs and released his Caterpie, Pikachu, and Abra. “Let’s go earn a badge!”
He walked confidently toward the Cerulean City Gym. As he approached, he saw three figures he thought to be human and one pokémon. “Must be having a warm-up battle before taking on Misty.” Icy disregarded them and entered the gym. It looked more like an aquarium then a gym. Icy asked the girl at the front desk where he could find Misty. She directed him to the main gym room. Icy walked down the corridor leading to the main room and found himself in front of a large swimming pool. In one corner of the gym, a young girl with a rather odd ponytail was shining her Starmie.
“Excuse me, but I’m looking for the gym leader. Have you seen her little girl?” Misty flipped out.
“I AM THE GYM LEADER AND I’M NOT LITTLE!” She clinched her fist, ready for a fight. “3 on 3 battle. Agreed?”
“Uh-huh.” Icy nodded.
“Let’s get started then. Misty calls, Staryu!” A five-pointed starfish jumped onto the platform.
“Go Pikachu!” Pikachu jumped onto the floating platform. “Pikachu, thunderbolt now!”
“Uh-no. Staryu, dive underwater…” Then Misty realized the terrible mistake she had just made. Pikachu used its thunderbolt on the water, electrifying the pool along with Staryu. “Owww. Staryu, return! Misty calls, Starmie!” This time, a ten-pointed starfish appeared.
“No problem. Thunderbolt, Pikachu!”
“Not again. Starmie, hit it with your psybeam now!”
“Crap. Agility now Pikachu!” Starmie began to glow and then shot a colorful blast of energy at Pikachu who quickly dodged it by a hair. “Counter attack now Pikachu. Thunderbolt!” Pikachu complied sending a massive amount of electricity at the starfish. Starmie was flung into the wall, smashing its core.
“Ohh. Starmie, return! Misty regretfully calls, Psyduck!”
“Psy-yi-yiii!” The Psyduck appeared.
“Confusion attack, Psyduck!” But Psyduck couldn’t remember how to do his attacks. In the morning, he had a splitting headache and took some aspirin to relieve it, now it was headache-free.
“Pikachu, will you please do the honors!” Pikachu smiled, then preceded to using its most powerful attack, Thunder. Just the show off, Pikachu created a massive vortex above Psyduck, who just stared blankly into it. Then, large lightning bolts came crashing down on the Psyduck, reducing it to a perfect duck dinner.
Misty recalled Psyduck and congratulated Icy on his victory. “You remind me of someone I met a long time ago. He had a cute little Pikachu too. Well, here you go, a Cascade Badge.” Icy thanked Misty and asked if it would be ok for him to stick around. She agreed. Just then, a few younger students came into the room and Misty began teaching a lesson on pokémon battles. She seemed glad that they didn’t get to see her embarrassing loss from just a few minutes ago. Icy listened in just in case he could catch a few pointers.
