Last time…
Icy and his friends found themselves on the virtual plane, a VR world created by the Dark Lord. It was then that Icy’s porygon, Cyber, unlocked his ultimate transform skill, Porygon Knight mode, and Icy was able to stop the Dark Lord from killing him and his friends. But what does the Dark Lord really want from Icy? This… is where our adventure continues…

As the clouds part, the camera flies over a vast green landscape, lined with numerous flowers and small trees and pokémon running around. Finally, the camera zooms past Icy, Sara, and Trinity as it soars into the sky.
Scenes change as we see each of the Spectral League gym leaders in dramatic poses with their pokémon and their respective island in the background. As we reach the final leader, the world begins to change into lines and becomes the Virtual Plane.
A slightly more foreboding music plays as shadows of Celebi, Porygon, a young boy, and an older man with a staff pass by. A tear drops from the boy’s face as he drops a small locket, causing the scene to switch again.
The ripples of the tear drops fade into a scene of Icy and his friends having a picnic and a few shots of battles with other trainers. Finally, the camera zooms out to show a large portion of the world, but with an ominous figure looming behind it.

“What? How is that possible?” Icy said in disbelief.
Nurse Joy examined his porygon again and shook her head. “I don’t understand it myself, but I’m sure that this porygon’s version number is higher than any of Data Island’s prototypes. But… maybe it’s just a glitch. Computers have been acting very strange over the past month and it’s caused quite a few problems.”
“Oh. Ok, well, can we go then?”
“Yes, but, please, keep the porygon hidden away. I may trust you, but they’ve even placed a reward for the capture of the criminal responsible for stealing that prototype porygon from the lab. If someone suspects you, there’s no telling what they’ll do.”
“Right, thanks for the warning Nurse Joy. We’ll be careful.”
“Ok. Well, if you are headed for Yellow Island, you better hurry. The boat is leaving in 10 minutes.”
“Aghhh, the dock’s on the other side of town, we gotta run!” Icy and Sara stormed out but Nicky and Kelly were still waiting behind.
“Hey, aren’t you two coming?” Sara asked.
“Umm, well, Kelly says she really wants to stay here a while. Since she doesn’t have any guardian here to look after her, I’m gonna stay with her.”
Sara looked suspicious. “Uh huh. Yes, you are gonna keep her safe right? Make sure no b,” she was unable to speak anymore.
“C’mon Sara, those two will be fine ehheheh,” Icy giggled nervously dragging Sara out of the pokécenter.
“You better keep her safe Nicky!!!” Sara shouted from outside. She turned back to Icy and gave a huge grin.
“Geez, agh, the boat, we gotta run, now!” Icy grabbed Sara’s hand and the two ran as fast as they could towards the docks.

The whistle for the boat blew announcing it was about to depart. Icy and Sara were only a few feet away from the dock and had to jump to get on since they already retracted the gangplank.
“Shew, we made it!” Icy said wiping the sweat off his forehead. Sara stood beside him looking around the ship.
“Ack!” she uttered.
“Huh, what is it?” Icy asked.
“Look who’s here…,” Sara said pointing at Trinity.
Trinity noticed Icy out of the corner of her eye and sighed. “You do know it’s impolite to point at people… Don’t you two have any manners at all?” She walked past them.
“Ok, that’s it. You got a bad attitude and I can’t take it any more,” Sara said furiously.
Trinity stopped and turned around to Sara. “What’s wrong little girl? Are you jealous? I can beat your boyfriend, and I can beat you, so you are no position to teach me anything.”
“Sara, let it go, she’s not worth it,” Icy tried to calm Sara down but she was over the edge this time.
“You haven’t battled me before. One on one, right now. This ship has a small sparing field, let’s go.” Sara was determined to teach Trinity a lesson of some sort. But really, she had just had it with Trinity’s snide attitude towards Icy and herself.
“You want to lose to me too? Fine, if it’s only one on one, it won’t waste much of my time.” Trinity agreed to Sara’s challenge and the two girls made their way towards the field on the main deck of the ship.
“C’mon ladies, you don’t really have to do this,” Icy said.
“STAY OUT OF THIS!!!” replied Sara and Trinity.
“I guess this can’t be helped, fine…” Icy followed Sara who had taken his hand and was now dragging him along.
When they got to the field, there were already a few trainers battling. This however didn’t seem to bother Sara or Trinity who made their way to the field and personally declared the current match over. Since no one wanted to be involved in a fight with two seemingly pissed off girls, the other trainers stepped aside and let Sara and Trinity have the field.
“Ok Trinity, one on one. I’m gonna teach you.”
“Whatever. You’re gonna lose more than your boyfriend did now,” Trinity said as she selected Sneasel’s pokéball. “Sneasel, go!” Trinity’s ice cat, Sneasel, appeared on the field.
“Here goes. Aura, show your light!” Sara released the golden butterfree from its pokéball. The spectators were quite impressed by it. Icy remembered why he first saw that golden butterfree, back in Cerulean Cape when Bill and Mewtwo used it to restore Icy and Sara to their human forms.
“Sneasel, use your ice punch and freeze that bug.” Now this pissed off Icy.
“Hey!!! Don’t you make fun of bug pokémon. C’mon Sara, I’m here for you. Crush that kitten!!!”
Sara nodded, feeling a new courage from Icy’s belief in her, and she gave her commands to Aura. “Aura, use fly to get away,” Sara shouted. Aura fly up high, but Sneasel wasn’t so easily fooled. The crafty feline planted its paws onto the field and leapt gracefully and quickly into the air after Aura.
“Hmmhmm, you can’t run,” Trinity taunted.
“Oh yea,” Sara said grinning. “Teleport!” she commanded as she plugged a TM into her pokédex. Immediately, Aura disappeared, just as Sneasel was about to connect with its ice punch.
“Ugh, sneaky wench,” Trinity muttered.
“Aura, psychic attack,” Sara ordered and Aura began glowing until it emitted its most powerful psychic attack.
“Block that Sneasel!!!” Trinity shouted as Sneasel shielded itself in an attempt to avoid mortal damage. It was able to survive the attack and even land back on the ground with its feet, but the ice cat looked worn out. “No way…” Trinity thought to herself.
Sara didn’t waste any time. “Aura, finish it, Aura Rush!” Sara’s butterfree Aura was like no other, and its ultimate physical attack, Aura Rush, was an inescapable trap to a worn out pokémon. Aura hovered, then like lightning she rushed in towards Sneasel who counter-attacked with its claws but hit nothing but air. Suddenly, Trinity realized how much of an error she’d made. By countering so soon, Sneasel left itself completely open to the real attack. From all sides, Aura swooped past hitting Sneasel for incredible amounts of damage each time. Aura faded back into view on Sara’s shoulder as Sneasel collapsed. The spectators were in awe.
“Whoa, did you see that? The butterfree, it, it moved like light. What kind of attack was that!!”
Trinity held out her pokéball and recalled Sneasel. She didn’t raise her head to Sara, rather she ran off. “Hey, what?” Sara stopped as Icy asked her not to bother calling Trinity. He was just as shocked that Sara actually beat her.
<< Scene Switch >>
The trip to Yellow Island never seemed so long to her. Since she had found Sneasel, Trinity had treated it with so much love and kindness, and in return, Sneasel had trained her hardest to please Trinity. And until a few minutes ago, they had been an unstoppable team. Trinity knew blaming Sneasel wouldn’t change anything, and in fact, Sneasel wasn’t the one to blame, it was her who let down her guard. But… that wasn’t everything. Her pride, and her foolish attitude, it seemed so childish to her suddenly. She had been making fun of Sara since she met her, but she never imagined Sara being such a competent trainer. Even when she battled Icy, she felt as though, if only one move went wrong for her, that would decide the battle. Now she had lost finally, and it wasn’t easy to deal with it.
A knock came on the door. “Yes? Who’s there?” Trinity muttered.
“It’s Icy and Sara. May we come in?”
Trinity walked up to the door and opened it. Sara greeted her, not with a gloating smile, but with open arms. “Huh, what the?” Sara gave Trinity a big hug and then shook her hand.
“Trinity, that… that was actually pretty fun. Believe it or not, I’ve never actually battled another trainer before, and you were definitely an awesome way to start.”
“Huh? I don’t understand. Why'd you come here anyways?”
“Well…,” started Icy. “Look, both of us are trying to make our way to the Spectral League Championships right? We may be rivals, but there’s no reason for us to be at each other’s throats all the time right?”
Trinity looked up at Icy, and at Sara, and for the first time, she actually smiled. “I, I guess that was pretty childish of me to be taunting you two all the time. You’re right, we may be rivals, but, we can learn a lot from each other still.”
“Yea!”
“Ok then… So, you want to join me I suppose?” Trinity asked.
“Huh, hey, but weren’t we gonna ask her to join US,” Sara started to say as Icy covered her mouth. Trinity laughed a little.
“Sure, we’d be happy to join you. And when the time comes, and we meet in battle again, it will be the greatest battle ever.”
“You got that right.” Trinity gave a thumbs-up to show her agreement. “Well then, I think we are almost to Yellow Island. Do you know about the gym leader there yet?”
“Actually, no.”
“I see, ok, well, I’ve heard only bits of information, but his name is Trevor, and he uses electric pokémon. It’s also not a three on three match, he’s got six pokémon and will use all of them. I might swap for one my ground types to use on him, and I suggest you do likewise. He’s no pushover, and even ground-types have had problems defeating him.”
“Geez, this guy sounds serious.”
“Get used to it Icy. The Spectral League is NOT for beginner trainers as you say from the practice rounds. I joined this league to prove myself as a true master trainer. I assume you are doing the same. The leaders of this league are very strong, and while Aaron was easy, he only does that to throw you off.”
“No way,” Sara said. “You mean, he threw the match?”
“Not quite, if you aren’t careful, he’ll beat you. That darkness trick was pretty sneaky. If you aren’t prepared for it, it could be the end, but he doesn’t fight with all his strength. If he did, I’m not sure even I could have beaten him so easily.”
“Guess we’ll be stopping by the pokémon center when we arrive on Yellow Island then huh?” Icy said.
“You got it,” Trinity answered. At last, the three trainers had become friends. In only a few more minutes, the ship arrived at Yellow Island port.
“Welcome to the Yellow Island. Please, be sure to collect all of your personal belongings before leaving the boat. The pokémon center is just down the block from here, and those who are traveling to the gym will find it further into town. You can’t miss it.”
“Alright, we’re here. Better head to the pokémon center first,” Icy said cheering.
“Wahoo, not a very original name, but still cool,” Sara giggled.
Trinity tried her best to ignore their childishness and act friendly. “Yes. We’re here. Let’s heal our pokémon and get the badge we came for.”
“Gee Trinity, can’t you at least enjoy yourself a little? We just got here, let’s take a break…” Sara said.
“But… Fine. I suppose the fresh air could do us and our pokémon some good.”
“That’s the spirit. Trinity, training pokémon isn’t just about the battles, you know that I’m sure. Don’t forget, the trainer must be happy and strong as well, so, there’s no need to rush things. A little relaxation will help trainer and pokémon alike,” Icy said.
“Ok ok, let’s go to the pokécenter already then,” Trinity answered. She knew what Icy was saying was true, but her mind was still set on planning how she’d get that next gym badge.
“Welcome to our Pokémon Center. I’m Nurse Joy, pleased to meet you.”
“Oh, thank you. Would you heal our pokémon please?”
“Certainly. Are you going up against Trevor?”
“He’s the gym leader here isn’t he?” Icy asked.
“Yes. You shouldn’t underestimate him. Trevor is a very strong trainer. I usually have my hands full with injured pokémon as a result of trainers being careless against him. His pokémon are fast and evasive, so you’ll have to be quick witted if you want to stand a chance. But, I’m sure you are all great trainers. I wish you luck. Please, enjoy some lunch while you pokémon are being healed.”
“Thank you. Oh, that’s right, gotta trade pokémon.” Icy walked over to the pokémon transport system. He placed Static’s pokéball on the tray and requested his Dugtrio. Instantly, Dugtrio was traded to his current pokéball. “Hmmm…I guess this’ll hafta due,” Icy said. Dugtrio was his only ground type pokémon, but Icy hoped to use it as a back-up for his other strong pokémon.
Trinity meanwhile was switching through her pokémon. Sara started peeking over her should and Trinity asked her to leave her alone. “Please, I must concentrate,” she said as an excuse. Sara pouted but figured hanging out with Icy was more fun anyways. Trinity finished selecting her pokémon to use and the three trainers all ate lunch together while their pokémon were being healed.
Meanwhile…
Gamma flew beside Eamudo, his steel bird pokémon, high above the Yellow Island. “Just you wait Icy. Human or pikachu, I will have my prey.” Eamudo cried out in detest as well as Gamma gave a sinister laugh. “Aaaahahahaha!!!”
*BEEP* *BEEP*
“Huh,” Gamma said and looked at his belt. “Damn, right in the middle of my laugh too…” Gamma clicked a button on the phone. “Gamma… What is it?”
“Why does Icy still live? You were supposed to eliminate him and get that pokémon. What is taking so long?” said a voice on the other end.
“Look, I’m handling it. Worry about your own problems, and I’ll take care of mine…”
“You had better…” *CLICK*
“Yea…” Gamma turned to Eamudo. “I’ll take care of it… Next time, we won’t fail.”
«« ENDING »»
Light harp-like music plays showing each of the main characters with their pokémon asleep. Finally, we see just an outline of a young boy, asleep with a winged pokémon and a strange pokémon beside them.
