Cyber's Secret - The Duel of the Porygon Knights

Episode 107

Last time,
A strange boy and the time-traveler pokémon, Celebi, were watching over Icy and his friends as they fought Gamma. Trinity stepped in and helped them out. But just when our friends thought they were in the clear, Celebi and the boy vanished to the Virtual World where they became the infamous Dark Lord.
This is where our story continues…

“Mwahahaha… Finally, you are within my grasp. Now Icy, I shall take what is mine.” The Dark Lord raised his sword and Virtual Plane glowed.
Icy and his friends continued following the Furrets and Sentrets into the forest when suddenly they began to glow. “Oh no, it’s a trap!” Icy shouted. It was too late. In an instant, they found themselves in a dark strange land.
“Hmmhmmhmm…” In the distance, they could make out the figure of what looked like a warrior wielding a sword. “At last… I finally have you Icy. You have something I need…”
“If you’re referring to Frosterpie than forget it. I’m not about to let anyone take away my friend.”
“Your friend… Frosterpie should belong with me. If not for me, you’d never have found Frosterpie to begin with.”
  “What are you talking about?”
“You pathetic being… You have no idea what you have gotten yourself into. You have no choice over your destiny now. Give up Frosterpie or watch as I destroy everything YOU hold dear.”
“Icy… I feel something strange. The energy here. It’s twisted and angry.” Sara was shivering as she hid behind Icy.
“Sara?” Icy looked closely at the floating entity in front of them. “What is this? Who are you? It’s not Mewtwo, so who can this enemy be?”
“I grow impatient, Icy. You would be foolish to challenge me.” In the creature’s eyes, they began to glow red. “Give me what is mine!” He waited no longer and charged towards Icy and his friends.
“Nooooo!” Suddenly, there was a beam of light. “Oh? Wha…what’s happening?”
  “No… He couldn’t…”
Icy’s porygon, Cyber, appeared in the VR Plane and started glowing with Icy. “Cyber… you… want to help me defend everyone?” Cyber nodded. “Ok. Just tell me what to do!”

Cyber started breaking apart into sections which then merged with Icy’s body. A knight’s helmet appeared along with a shield and a large sword which appeared to be made of ice. Finally, Icy’s body was covered in strong, shimmering armor.

“Wow… That was definitely cooler than special effects in the movies,” Nicky said.
“Icy?” Sara asked, looking at the gallant knight standing before them.”
“It’s me. I think me and Cyber somehow merged together.” Icy and Cyber had combined to become, The Porygon Knight!
The creature stepped back and began laughing again. “Hmmhmmhmm, do you really expect to beat me in that form? I don’t know how you were able to attain this mode, but you don’t have nearly enough strength to stop me. Now, feel the wrath of The Dark Lord!”
Everyone stopped, starring. “Whaaaa?!? That’s the Dark Lord? But, Icy, looks sorta just like him. What’s going on?” Sara stayed closer to Nicky and Kelly. This had become confusing. How could their enemy have the same form as their friend? “Icy?”
“Sara, it’s still me. This isn’t the reality plane, it’s some sort of VR world or something.”
“I’ll give you credit for figuring that much out Icy. However, this place will soon be your grave! I shall have what I’ve waited for all this time.” The Dark Lord charged at Icy, his sword glistening as it grew closer.
“Huh? Aghh!” Icy shouted as he narrowly blocked his attack. “So… strong…”
“Hahaha, already giving up? You worthless being, why did Frosterpie choose you? What possible use are you to Frosterpie? You who are so weak.”
“Why do you want to take Frosterpie from me?” Icy managed to get back up and dodge The Dark Lord’s next attack. Off in the distance, Janus watched their battle.
“They really lose all control like that… But… Why? Heh, well, at least he’ll finally get what he’s been after all this time.” Janus faded away as the fight continued.
The Dark Lord struck another blow at Icy who blocked but was still being pushed back. “Enough of this.” The Dark Lord jumped back and held his sword straight up. “Temporal magic…” The sword lit up as his eyes narrowed. “Delay strike!”
“Huh?” Icy looked all around but could not find his opponent. “Where’d he go?” Suddenly, The Dark Lord came from the right side. Icy blocked but the figure vanished. “A decoy?!?” He sensed an attack from his left now but when he blocked it, he could feel the real attack come from the front. “AGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!” he screamed out in pain. His sword fell to the ground as The Dark Lord withdrew his blade. Icy winced in pain. Although his own physical body hadn’t been cut, his body as the armor was wounded deeply. “Ughh…” he moaned, falling to his knees. He looked up, seeing only The Dark Lord, readying his blade to make the final blow.
“You worthless creature. Now you shall suffer for my suffering.”
“Your suffering? Wait. Please, don’t do this.”
Inside, the boy was burning with hate. Celebi’s eyes were distant, yet focused on Icy. “Why does he resist us like this? He knows I can’t lose this fight.” He gripped the sword and raised it.
“Ughh,” Icy grunted getting up a little. “Crap.”
“DIE ICY!” The Dark Lord swung his sword but it hit only the ground. “What is this!”
Icy flew above him, panting, but still able to hold his sword as he flew back down to strike a blow to The Dark Lord.
“Ugh, no…” the knight uttered as he fell. “Why? Why did this happen?” Icy had managed to hit a slight weak spot on the armor and it was causing Porygon to crash. “What’s happening to me?”
Icy landed and somehow, he and Cyber broke apart. “Ughhh…” Icy gripped his chest and fell to the ground. Cyber seemed to be in equal pain. Frosterpie meanwhile looked on, wondering just why he was being defended. “Huh, what the?”
Across from Icy, three were three figures. Porygon, Celebi, and a small boy. “Ugh… no…” The boy jumped to his feet and scooped up Celebi. “Celebi, speak to me. I told you not to do this again…” His face frowned. “No… It’s YOUR fault.” The boy pointed at Icy. “You. You. YOU! How dare you harm my only friend.”
“Me? What are you talking about, you attacked me and my friends!”
“Frosterpie…” The boy laid eyes upon the legendary pokémon for his first time. “It’s so beautiful…” Celebi slowly opened its eyes, which had become slightly normal again. “You’re so close… yet, so far…”
“Why did you attack us? Answer me,” Icy demanded.
“Huh? Why won’t you give me Frosterpie? He belongs with me. I’ve been searching for him forever. Give him to me.” The kid didn’t move, mostly because Celebi was injured and he needed to hold him still.
“I can’t give you Frosterpie. Not to you. You who’d attack people without reason, can you even call yourself a trainer?”
“You… are so cruel. One day Icy… I’ll make you pay; I’ll make you wish you never found Frosterpie in the first place. We’ll meet again. Celebi…” Celebi glowed until the world around them became a blinding light and suddenly Icy and his friends found themselves back in the real world.

“Icy, are you ok? You aren’t hurt are you?” Sara run up and hugged Icy.
“Geez, what the heck was with that kid? Are you really gonna have to fight him again? You barely survived back there,” Nicky said.
  “Nicky… Please…” Icy replied.
“Oh, sorry.” Kelly was silent. It had been too much excitement for her, plus, the Furret she had just become friends with was now gone too. They’d all been illusions, a clever trap set to lure them.
“Kelly, are you gonna be alright?” Nicky sat beside her.
“Why? He was so mean yet seemed so sad. How can he be like that?”
“Kelly, that kid’s messed up. Who knows, but we are all safe now.”
“No… We aren’t safe… No one is. The way he looked at me… It was as if he’s given this look to every person he’s come across.”
  “What are you saying Icy?”
“I don’t think any of us are safe. He may be after Frosterpie, but at the same time, he looks as if he is at war with everyone…”
  “How sad,” Sara said.

From a distance, the same boy watched them talk. “No… that’s not it at all…” He looked down at Celebi. “Is it?”
  “Not me… not you… but… us…”
  “Let’s go… I don’t want to stay here.”
“One day… you’ll take it with me? Right? But you said it’s not going to make you happy with just that…”
“Celebi, I’m sorry… But one day, we make them all pay for our suffering…”
“I… guess so…” Celebi sighed and rested in the boy’s arms, making itself comfortable.
“I’ll make you understand some day Celebi. Everything will be prefect for us, and I won’t be alone anymore.” A tear dropped from his face onto a small circular locket with pictures of two people inside it. “Frosterpie… will bring us together again…” With that, he ran off carrying Celebi with him.

“You didn’t defeat him? I’m surprised.”
  “Shut up Janus…”
“My grace, do you actually know Frosterpie can… bring them back?”
  “Yes, he has to.”
“Even if he could… you want more?”
  “Yes…”
  “Why?”
“Huh? Why?” The boy looked at Celebi who was sleeping. “Janus… You have a pokémon. It is… your friend, right?”
“Uh? I… I um, well, I’ve never been asked that.”
  “Then answer my question now.”
“Very well… I would say yes, I see Scizor to be my companion in battle and in life. We share our pain and joy together. It’s like your relationship to Celebi there.”
“But… Celebi can’t feel that for me… Not like this.”
“The Darkball. Destroy it. Can’t you at least see, Celebi’s not the one under its control, it’s you. Forgive me for saying this my grace, but I believe it with all my heart, you are being used. Even if you yourself gave that device to you now, it still doesn’t mean there’s more than we see to it.”
  “Silence. I’m not being manipulated or controlled… I can’t destroy it… I need it.”
“Power is a drug… an addiction.”
“I said silence. Janus, you draw my patience. I don’t believe any of that. Besides, the time has come. I want you to finish the work on the Ultima Cannon.”
“As you wish, my grace.” Janus turned his head, placing his cane on the ground. In an instant he vanished.
“Celebi? Why, why does everyone say these things to me?”
“Are they true? I know, only, that wasn’t me… But… Maybe, you wished me to be that… I’ll be with you forever no matter what. I still wanna help you find happiness ok.”
“Celebi, thank you.” The boy smiled. “You’re always kind to me.”
“We’re friends, we have to be kind.” Celebi deep inside was truly connected with the boy, but, in his own heart, he believed Janus, because why else could he think freely… Though he’d never say it, he kept the idea in his mind, one day, it may come to a single choice which could decide the fate of himself and his friend. Celebi prayed the day would never come, that he’d never again see that creature, that he’d never again experience true horror.

Back to Icy and his friends, the gang stopped by the pokecenter to have Cyber checked out.
“Nurse Joy, could you take a quick look over my porygon please.”
“Umm, may I speak with you privately Icy.” Joy looked around, knowing it was already a little too late. People were starring at Icy now upon hearing the pokémon’s name. “Come with me.”
“Huh?” Nurse Joy led Icy into the ER as the crowds settled down and went back to their business.
“What’s going on,” Sara thought to herself.
Nurse Joy opened the ball and shook her head. “What a relief. Ok, I can examine it.”
“Hey, what’s the idea? Don’t you go hiding things from me, Cyber’s a good pokémon, so what’s the idea dragging me in here like a criminal.”
  “I’m sorry, but… I had to be sure you weren’t a criminal.”
  “Huh???”
“A few weeks ago, a prototype porygon was stolen from the lab on Data Island. Since then, all pokecenters are on the look-out for it. Since this one’s not it, you’re fine, but please, don’t mention the name too loud.” She examined the porygon but suddenly looked as though she’d seen a ghost.
  “Am I a criminal again?”
“Where… Where did you get this?”
  “Why first?”
  “The lab… isn’t done perfecting the prototype… But… Yours, it’s…”
  “What is it?”
  “It’s the final version…”
