Last time,
Icy and Trinity challenged the White Gym Leader, Aaron, and won themselves each a White Pearl Badge. Trinity went on ahead as Icy and the gang headed back to the pokecenter. But all is not cheerful for some… And this is where our story continues…
The creature stared at the little boy smiling behind Janus. “It… it’s you. I was… lonely, I wanted you here… please stay. Or… take me with you this time.”
“You realize that would be risky. You are not an ordinary creature.” Janus looked down at the boy. “And, you are no ordinary person…”
“Why… Why can’t I go? I don’t wanna stay in here anymore.” The creature’s virtual world began to reform itself.
“Oh? This is…” Janus stepped back. “Stop. You’re imagining it all over again. You’ll only hurt yourself when you get tired.” The creature realized its world had begun to shape itself again… but slowly, it crumbled back into data and pixels until finally becoming nothing.
“You… you really miss your home… but…”
“My lord, you, wouldn’t, your goal?” Janus questioned.
“I know. I’m not giving up. I already spent one lifetime searching for it. I won’t waste another.”
“My lord, Icy is presently on the White Island. Gamma is not far from there. I can… arrange their meeting.”
“Is it?”
“What you seek is with Icy as well.”
The boy’s face lit up. “At last. At last, it’ll be mine.”
The other creature sulked again. “I’m not important to you anymore… Why? Why do you keep me if you don’t want me?” The creature spotted the special pokéball its master held. “Why… why keep that? I… I…”
“I don’t know why… I gave it to myself, with you… Somehow, it seemed useful, but, you’d follow me forever… But… we need it still. You and I, we need this… And… I must ask you to harm others again…”
“Again? But… last time… you said it was the last time…”
“I’m sorry… I found something more… I want that too… It’s not a lot more, but the people who had it won’t let me take it,” the boy said.
“My lord… perhaps… your struggle, has lasted long enough. Do you really wish to use force to attain more than your original goal?”
“Whatever it will take…”
“I see…” Janus looked up at the creature floating in front of them. “And you… I suppose you have no choice, but given one… you’d choose to help him?”
The creature nodded. “We are friends… Right? Friends, help each other. That’s what you taught me.”
The boy nodded. “Janus. Tell Gamma to intercept Icy. If it can be done without killing him… then let it be so. I… I suppose peace would be better for us both.” The creature smiled and flew over to the boy. “Celebi, I love you, you’re my only friend.”
“As you wish, your grace,” Janus said drawing his cape. His body pixelized as he exited the virtual world.
“Celebi…” The boy pet the small pokémon’s head softly. “Would you really, even if it hurt others?”
“I… I would, because it would make you happier right? You’ll get what you’ve been searching for right?”
“Yes… I would. But… now I want more. I want a lot more Celebi… And me and you can get it together. We are strong together. This is strong,” he said holding up the special pokéball.
Celebi sobbed for a moment. That ball, it was like a bad dream he’d been trying to wake up from. “I… I hate it.”
“What?”
“I hate that thing. You don’t need it anymore… I wanna help you… It’s controlling me but I’d help you anyways… Don’t you trust me…”
“Celebi… it’s not for that… If I lose this… we can’t get everything. I’m going to make others. That’s what will happen. It’ll be a big place, it’ll go high into the sky, you’ll see.”
Celebi began to glow again as the virtual world started to collect pixels. “Big sky. In the clouds.” A tower formed, reaching high into the clouds, dwarfing everything around it.
“Yes Celebi, you remember it. You remember that…”
“I do?” Celebi floated towards the building, towards the glass. “No…”
“No? What is it then?”
“Not me!! It’s not me!!!” Celebi glowed red as every window on the building shattered. He paused when a shard sliced past him. “Not… … … me… …”
“Celebi!!!” The boy covered his friend and tended to the wound. Behind them, the building, the clouds, everything, it had already begun to vanish. “Celebi… please… Why don’t you tell me what’s wrong with you?”
“It’s… You…” Celebi managed to speak before falling asleep.
“Me… It’s me… your reflection…” The boy looked up at the red-blue pokémon. “That me?” He looked down at Celebi again. “I can’t stop it, not yet. Please… Please just let me continue it for a little longer. We’ll have everything together. I won’t leave you Celebi… I love you.” He hugged Celebi and decided to take him with him back to the reality plane.
“Don’t go…”
“You’re coming too Celebi. I’ll make Porygon II stay here.”
Porygon waddled over to the boy. “But… the knight…”
“Porygon can’t make me the knight outside the virtual plane. And he’s got important work to do.” Porygon nodded and flew off. The boy grinned.
“Take me with you this time…”
“Ok. VR… execute exit command on Willis and Celebi entities.” Their virtual forms pixelized as they exited the virtual world.
=====
“Hello Nurse Joy. Could you please heal my pokémon, they’ve earned a nice rest from that gym battle.
“Of course. I take you beat Aaron then?”
Icy cheerfully displayed the badge he won as Sara made some side comments referring to a certain ego.
“It was a fun match Icy. But, no one could see anything. How’d you beat him?”
“Psychic. Hocus used his senses rather than eyes. I realized Trinity did the same thing, she let Sneasel sense Gastly was near.”
“Icy… taking pointers from that girl are we?” Sara asked nudging.
“Ow Ow, hey cut that out. It was a good strategy.”
“Aghhh, you ARE taking pointers from her, which can mean only one thing!!!” Icy gasped and attempted to evade Sara’s thin-air mallet, but he was too slow. “Gahhh, I’ll show HER a pointer or two.”
“Yippie…” Icy said as stars danced about his head.
“If you’re gonna teach her anything, we might wanna think about getting a move on. I just saw Trinity boarding a ship for the Yellow Island,” Nicky said.
Icy sprung up. “WHAT!!! Already??? Jeez, some people need to relax ya know.”
“We’re going!!!” Sara said and she began to drag Icy out of the pokecenter.
“Hey, hey wait! My pokémon!!!” Nurse Joy placed the tray on the counter which floated over to Icy and back to Joy empty.
“Please come again :)”
Nicky and Kelly followed Sara who was leading Icy towards to the pier. “Besides, you can’t let her get ahead of you. She’s your rival.”
“Awww, cute,” Kelly said out of the blue.
“Kelly, you’re a little young to making those comments about lovers’ quarrels,” Nicky remarked.
“Huh, but, he’s cute,” Kelly repeated holding up a Furret. She hugged it close and the Furret seemed to like it.
“Huh? Where the heck did that come from?” Suddenly, the air felt stiff.
“I can tell you where it’s about to end up…,” said a familiar voice.
“I know that voice…” Icy muttered turning around.
=====
“Gamma!” Icy shouted, turning around to see his assassin staring maliciously at him. “Don’t you get tired of hunting us down? And what do you want with this Furret?”
“It’s a long story, so I’ll make it short. That little furball stole my lunch which makes me rather ticked off.” Gamma’s stomach growled.
“Ehheh, you sure sound hungry. If you weren’t such a jerk, you could get free food at the pokecenter…”
“Shut up. I also have orders to eliminate you. However, I might spare you and your friends if you’d hand over the pokémon in that ball,” Gamma said pointing at the crystal pokéball.
“Huh? Frosterpie? You’re joking right? Do you have any idea how much me and Sara went through just to get Frosterpie? You want him, you’re gonna hafta beat me first.”
“Very well… You have chosen your fate Icy. Now you must die.” Gamma jumped back, taking a pokéball from his belt and throwing it. “Eamudo, destroy!” Gamma’s steel bird, Eamudo, appeared.
“Hey!” called another familiar voice.
“Trinity???”
“Gamma is it? Why not fight a ‘real’ trainer. You want a challenge, fight me. Anyone could beat this loser…”
“WHAT DID YOU SAY!!!” Icy fumed along with Sara.
Gamma sneered. “Very well little girl. If you wish to die so badly, I shall set you free. Eamudo, attack!”
“Sneasel, you’re on!” Trinity’s dark-ice cat appeared and gracefully dodged Eamudo’s airborne attack. “Sneasel, counter-attack time. Use fury swipes.” Sneasel waited for Eamudo to make another run before leaping into the air and landing on the bird’s back. “Do it!” Sneasel began lashing the steel bird with her razor sharp claws until Eamudo crashed into the ground. “Had enough?”
“Can’t be… Eamudo return.” Gamma drew his cape and vanished.
“Wow. You sure made short work of him,” Icy said.
“Whatever. I can’t stand gluttons like that. Boasting power when they aren’t even fit to be called amateurs.” Trinity turned and walked back to the pier.
“Jeez… Even when you complement her… she’s still cruel.”
“Icy, you don’t complement me!!!” Icy could sense a large object about to hit his head for the second time and quickly dodged.
“Sorry sorry, you’re great Sara!” Sara turned all happy again and hugged Icy.
“Yeaaaaaaaa!!!”
“Ummm, what should I do with this guy?” Kelly pointed at the Furret who was now sitting on her head like a hat.
“He makes a nice hat doesn’t he? Guess you could keep him since he doesn’t really have an owner.”
“Cool!” Kelly’s eevees approved of their new friend and the just as the group was about to leave, they saw their path had become blocked.
“Umm… What’s with this???” Standing in their way were at least a hundred or so Furrets and Sentrets. “Why are you all here? Is that your friend?” Icy asked.
The furrets looked like they wanted the group to follow them so everyone wandered into the woods. “Are you sure this is safe Icy? Doesn’t this seem too familiar…” Sara mentioned.
“You’re right… But I don’t sense anything here besides the furrets and sentrets so let’s go.”
Meanwhile, the little boy stood watching Icy and the others run into the forest. Clutched in his arms against his chest, was Celebi, who looked on. “Not fair… It’s mine…” Just then, all the street lights began exploding one by one. Even the lamps in the park lit up then exploded.
“Whoa! What’s going on?” Icy suddenly released Sara was about to get hit by a shard of glass from one of the lamps and quickly grabbed her away from it.
“Oww, what the. What was that for Icy?” Sara asked.
“I’m sorry, are you alright?” Icy’s leg was bleeding a little from a shard hitting him.
“I am, but your leg isn’t. C’mon, we gotta get to the pokecenter to get some bandages.”
Celebi looked worried and begin fidgeting in the boy’s arms. “Now what? C’mon, I told you this was going to happen. Everything’s fine, just calm down ok, you’ll only make it worse.”
“Not ok, not ok. It’s coming. Can’t stay. Can’t stay here.”
“Celebi… Don’t do it…” With that, they both vanished.
“Not me… That’s not… ME!” Celebi cowered back as it looked up at the half covered face of his friend. “Not me!” The Porygon Knight had returned. “NOOOOOOOOOO!!” Celebi vanished leaving only The Dark Lord.
“Hahahahahaaaaa, Icy, I’m going to destroy you!” laughed The Dark Lord.
What are The Dark Lord’s evil plans. And just who is he anyway. Could it be that the time-traveler Celebi is really a cruel villain? Why do all the cute pokémon turn out so evil? Next time on the Adventures of Icy & Sara, make sure you don’t miss it!
